Folkstar is the biggest folk art web store in Poland. They are selling items that nobody needs, but everybody loves.The company was founded in 2009 and offers products at 9 brick and mortar stores all over the country. Selling over 25000 products via their web store they are way above their competition.

Problem

Folkstar had great potential in its online channel. However, the web store was simple and outdated. It didn’t even have an online payment integration or a mobile-friendly design. Despite this, the annual revenue of the online channel was quite impressive. Folkstar decided to invest in its online channel to make these numbers even higher and open to the online market.

Challenges

The project was qualified as a standard Sylius B2C eCommerce platform. The main challenges included:

  • Projecting & implementing a UX design
  • Setting up the content management system
  • Adding missing features
  • Setting up the staging & production environment
  • Training internal team for future improvements & maintenance

Solution & Outcome

As BitBag we participated in the eCommerce business design process and delivered all necessary features of the online store, including:

  • RWD storefront which is simple & pretty
  • Wishlist plugin
  • Content Management System integration in one place
  • Elasticsearch filters for option & attributes on the product index page
  • Payment integration – PayU
  • InPost, DPD, DHL courier services integration features label printing and courier ordering
  • Migrated data alongside with customers and their passwords (we kept them encrypted with the possibility to log in on the new platform)
  • Hosting setup for easy deployment and environment management
