Check B2C eCommerce software

We build eCommerce B2C platforms based on Sylius and Shopware, the two scalable solutions that enable even the most non-standard personalization and can support hundreds of thousands of products/data. Technologies we use

Start with the idea, end up with the plan

Collecting the requirements and building an estimation based on them is crucial for the success of any (B2B/B2C or marketplace website) commerce project. Your customers will be grateful for modern solutions that meet their expectations. Knowing the time and costs is often a determinant of cooperation. For this purpose, we offer a special service – Vision-To-Plan eCommerce Workshops.

The first two steps of the process shown on the graphic are covered by workshops. The others refer to the implementation process.

eCommerce workshops are created to understand each other's expectations and needs. Remember that every €1 spent on planning can save up to €10 in redundant development costs.
Nobody likes to buy a pig in a poke, so before signing a contract, we need to understand our (as company and people) needs well and decide if both parties want to cooperate.

To learn more about workshops, go to the Vision-To-Plan eCommerce Workshops.

Project management in BitBag

The right technology for the right results

Our experts will help you select technologies that will meet the key requirements of your online store. After selecting the appropriate technologies, we begin implementation.

Agile methodology

The development process is divided into several phases. You are involved in the whole process, so every feedback, changes, or improvements are welcome.
However, we know each project differs, so we adapt the methodology to the client and his needs.

Communication

In general, we communicate with you via Slack through a dedicated channel. Other possible communication tools could be e-mail or Google Hangouts.

Team structure

Every project has different requirements, so there’s no “one and only” structure. In general, our team structure looks like this:

  • Project Manager – checks if everything goes according to plan, solves problems, and translates business language into programming (and vice versa).
  • Developers – carry out assumptions about the project to the real eCommerce solution.
  • Quality Assurance  – he will find and kill any bug that may crash your system.
  • (Optional) Designer – provides the website with beautiful UI and takes care of UX.
Settlement method

Depending on your project’s scope, goals, and budget, the settlement method may differ. Generally,  the work can be commissioned with two options: Fixed Price or Time and Material.  We ensure that everything is clear for both sides and then begin our cooperation based on the chosen model.

Optional: project maintenance

As a bonus service, we can provide you with your B2C eCommerce project maintenance and long-term support. The service includes platform upgrades, updates and implementation of apps and plugins, and new eCommerce store feature development.

FAQ Section

1. What is a scalable B2C eCommerce platform?

A scalable B2C eCommerce platform is an online sales system designed to handle a growing number of users, products, and orders without losing performance.

In practice, this means an architecture that enables:

  • Handling hundreds of thousands of products
  • Dynamic traffic growth (e.g., during marketing campaigns)
  • Integration with ERP, PIM, WMS, and marketing automation systems
  • Development of new features without rewriting the entire system

Scalability is crucial for companies planning expansion, international sales, or intensive growth.

2. When is it better to build a dedicated eCommerce platform instead of using SaaS?

A dedicated eCommerce platform is a better solution than SaaS when a business needs flexibility, integrations, and full control over data.

Common signals include:

  • Limitations in checkout customization
  • Lack of advanced custom integrations
  • Increasing commission costs
  • Need for custom pricing or promotion logic
  • Selling in multiple markets with different operational models

SaaS platforms are great for getting started. When scaling, however, they often become a strategic limitation.

3. How much does it cost to implement a B2C eCommerce platform?

The cost of implementing a B2C eCommerce platform depends on the functional scope, number of integrations, and level of customization.

Estimated ranges:

  • MVP without advanced integrations: from several to tens of thousands EUR/USD (depending on the market)
  • Mid-size project with ERP, PIM, and custom UX: from tens to hundreds of thousands
  • Advanced international projects: from tens to hundreds of thousands

The biggest cost drivers are:

  • Integrations with external systems
  • Custom business logic
  • Number of markets and language versions
  • Infrastructure architecture

That’s why discovery workshops are essential before preparing a detailed estimate.

4. How long does it take to build a B2C online store?

Implementation time depends on project complexity.

Typical timelines:

  • MVP: 3–5 months
  • Mid-size platform with integrations: 6–9 months
  • Advanced international project: 9–15 months

The timeline is influenced by:

  • Readiness of requirements
  • Availability of the client-side team
  • Number of integrations
  • Scope of customization

Well-conducted discovery workshops shorten delivery time and reduce changes during the project.

5. Why do we build B2C platforms on Sylius and Shopware?

Sylius and Shopware are scalable enterprise and mid-market eCommerce platforms.

They offer:

  • Full control over code and architecture
  • Advanced integration capabilities
  • No typical SaaS limitations
  • Growth without generating technical debt
  • Support for hundreds of thousands of products and high traffic volumes

The choice between them depends on the business model, budget, and required level of customization.

6. Is Sylius suitable for enterprise?

Yes, Sylius is a perfect match for an enterprise. It is an eCommerce framework based on an architecture that enables full customization and infrastructure scalability.

It works particularly well in projects:

  • With advanced pricing logic
  • Requiring dedicated checkout processes
  • With a large number of integrations
  • Operating across multiple markets

It is especially a strong choice for companies that treat eCommerce as a strategic sales channel.

7. What does the B2C eCommerce platform development process look like?

The process consists of several stages:

  • Discovery workshops and requirements gathering
  • Architecture design
  • UX/UI design (optional)
  • Implementation and integrations
  • Testing
  • Production launch
  • Maintenance and further development

We work in an Agile model, meaning iterative development, continuous feedback, and the ability to respond to changing business needs.

8. What integrations are possible in a B2C eCommerce platform?

Platforms based on Sylius and Shopware can integrate with:

  • ERP systems
  • PIM systems
  • CMS platforms
  • Payment gateways
  • Shipping and courier systems
  • Marketplaces
  • Marketing automation tools

The open-source architecture enables building custom integrations tailored to specific business processes.

9. Do you provide maintenance and further development after launch?

Yes. We offer long-term support including:

  • Platform updates
  • Development of new features
  • Performance optimization
  • Security monitoring
  • Technical support

A scalable eCommerce platform is a long-term investment; post-launch development is essential to maintain a competitive advantage.

10. How do I choose the right eCommerce platform for my business?

The choice depends on:

  • Operational scale
  • Pricing model
  • Expansion plans
  • Number of integrations
  • Budget
  • Internal IT team capabilities

Technology selection should be a strategic decision, not purely a cost-driven one. That’s why we recommend starting with eCommerce workshops or a short technology consultation to select a solution aligned with real business goals.
