Złoty Nauczyciel is a platform created for teachers and educators who want to sell and promote their teaching materials, lesson resources, webinars, training sessions, and other educational products.

As a leading marketplace in Poland's education sector, it not only enables creators to monetize their knowledge but also supports the development of a well-structured and engaged community. It is a space built by people passionate about education, a place for sharing experiences, inspiration, and real support in the daily work of a teacher.

Problem

The main goal of the project was to create a new version of the platform based on Sylius technology, using the Sylius Plus - Marketplace Suite module. Our task was to create a space within the Polish education system that encourages collaboration, exchange of experience, and shared growth among users. The platform was intended to enable the publication of diverse educational materials, allowing everyone to find content tailored to their needs while also sharing their own resources and knowledge.

The project required continuous, intensive collaboration with the client, as well as regular exchange of knowledge and experience. Thanks to the client’s expert understanding of the industry, we were able not only to precisely define the scope of key functionalities but also to effectively implement them in line with clearly defined guidelines.

An important element of the process was also the needs and feedback of the community using the previous version of the platform. Their input was treated as a priority and had a real impact on the direction of the project, allowing us to create a solution better aligned with user expectations.

Challenges

Identification of client needs and verification of the project status during the development of initial functionalities, along with planning the necessary steps to launch the platform.
Active validation of tasks by the client in terms of domain knowledge related to the education sector and the needs of the existing community.
Creation of a material search system with numerous filters, enabling users to easily find relevant content.
Migration of the existing customer/order database from the WordPress platform to the new Sylius-based platform, including the transfer of several million orders, several thousand authors, and tens of thousands of products.
Redirection of old URLs to new ones while maintaining the previous visibility of authors on the new version of the platform.
Implementation of a settlements/automatic vendor billing system by creating a system that settles vendors monthly/quarterly based on sales and automatically calculates, among others, tax-deductible costs.
Implementation of a one-page checkout, enabling users to complete purchases on a single page.
Implementation of a delayed payment system, allowing users to settle payments at a later date.
Integration of the platform with Altera, enabling, among others, automatic invoice generation.
Creation of a complex product view containing detailed information about the product type, the ability to leave reviews, links to other products from the same author, and more.
Creation of a vendor profile, which, apart from the author description and reviews, enables filtering and searching of products offered by the user; from the vendor profile level, it is also possible to access generated sales and order reports.
Optimization of the platform for a high number of users, ensuring fast performance even during peak traffic hours.
Implementation of functionalities for generating detailed reports on orders, settlements, and payments from the administrator panel.

Solution & Outcome

Constant and effective communication, as well as strong understanding and trust at every stage of the project between the team and the client, enabled the creation of a new version of the platform, along with the gradual migration of the existing, large community to the new environment. This process required intensive work not only in understanding the client's technical expectations and the needs of the community they had built, but also in-depth understanding of the specifics of the educational environment, which forms the foundation of the platform's operation.

The result is a platform that not only serves as Poland's leading marketplace for the educational community, offering numerous features such as a sophisticated search engine and promotional product modules, but also provides extensive analytical capabilities accessible to both users and the client from the administrator level (including automatic vendor billing and vendor-generated sales and order reports).

Results

As a result of the partnership and effective cooperation between the client and BitBag, a new version of the Złoty Nauczyciel platform has appeared on the market, enriched with a number of new functionalities available both to existing users of the previous version and to new people joining the platform and co-creating a creative and supportive community in the field of education.
