Summary of 2025

For BitBag, 2025 was a year of dynamic growth, collaboration, and numerous successes, both on the technological and social fronts. The contributions of our specialists to Sylius's development, new integrations and products, and the events we co-created around the world clearly demonstrate our deep commitment to building the open source ecosystem and supporting the eCommerce industry. It was a year full of ambitious projects, accolades, and initiatives that further solidified our position as one of Sylius's leading development agencies.

Sylius Key Contributors

We’re delighted to start our yearly summary with truly exceptional news that we announced at the very beginning of the year. Two of our developers Gracjan Józefczyk and Krzysztof Odważny became the very first members of the new Sylius Key Contributors program.

This recognition is well deserved. Gracjan and Krzysztof played a crucial role in the development of Sylius 2.0, dedicating countless hours, energy, and passion to advancing the project. Their contribution goes far beyond writing code it’s thanks to people like them that Sylius continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading open-source eCommerce platforms.

For us at BitBag, it’s a tremendous source of pride. The success of Gracjan and Krzysztof proves that our team is made up of the best Sylius experts whose daily work directly impacts the growth of the entire community.

Sylius Practical Mastery Course

Staying on the topic of Sylius, it’s worth highlighting another major initiative created through the collaboration between Sylius and Gracjan Józefczyk the brand-new Sylius Practical Mastery Course.

This is a comprehensive training program featuring over 80 videos and 15 hours of in-depth content prepared by Gracjan himself. 🙌 💙

The course focuses on the practical aspects of working with Sylius, the kind of knowledge developers use every day in real eCommerce projects. By the end of the program, participants are ready to work on actual implementations and join development teams with confidence.

Moreover, the course serves as excellent preparation for the official Sylius certification, making it a perfect next step for anyone looking to grow within the Sylius ecosystem.

Certification

Another reason to be proud! This year, two of our developers earned prestigious industry certifications, confirming their expertise, experience, and dedication to advancing modern eCommerce technologies.

The first one is Krzysztof Odważny, whom we mentioned earlier. From his very first projects at BitBag, through his active involvement in the Sylius Slack community, to his significant contributions to the core codebase and his Sylius Key Contributor title, earning the official Sylius certification was a natural next step in his professional journey.

The second certified specialist is Marcin Kukliński, whom you may know from Developers Guild Talks. Marcin is one of our most experienced experts in the eCommerce field. This year, he earned his Pimcore certification, a technology we are proud to partner with and successfully implement in our clients’ projects.

Moments like these are particularly rewarding for us. Seeing our people grow alongside the technologies we help build every day is the best proof that investing in knowledge and passion truly pays off.

Integrations and Plugins

Over the past year, we have been actively developing the area of integrations and plugins, focusing on adapting our solutions to the latest Sylius 2.0 version while also creating new tools to support the growth of the open-source ecosystem.

Our goal was not only to ensure full compatibility but also to deliver functionalities that make eCommerce management easier and more efficient.

Sylius 2.0 Plugins

Following the release of Sylius 2.0, it was only natural for us to update our plugins to match the new system version. This year, we’ve upgraded several key extensions, including:

Our flagship SyliusCMSPlugin was also updated to version 2.0. This release introduced a refreshed, more intuitive user interface and aligned the plugin with the latest Sylius standards and performance improvements. 🛠️

The SyliusCMSPlugin has earned huge recognition within the community, surpassing 1 million downloads this year. That number isn’t just a milestone it’s proof that the tool we built is truly helping eCommerce projects around the world grow. We’d like to thank everyone for your trust, support, and feedback, which help us improve every day. 🙌

After this incredible success, we made an important, though not easy, decision: we transferred the SyliusCMSPlugin to the official Sylius product team, making it an official part of the ecosystem.

The SyliusCMSPlugin was originally created as part of our open-source initiative, but its ongoing development and maintenance required increasing time and resources. By handing the project over to the Sylius team, we ensured its long-term stability, higher quality, and continuous development.

We truly believe this was the right move one that guarantees Sylius will continue to offer a top-notch content management solution while further strengthening the ecosystem. 🤝

We originally built the Sylius Ergonode integration last year, but this year we focused on developing its new, improved version, the SyliusErgonodePlugin.

From our own experience (and that of our clients), we know that managing products in eCommerce can be a real challenge. Hundreds of attributes, multilingual descriptions, category changes are all too often handled manually.

Conferences and Meetups

This year was packed with inspiring and valuable events both those we co-organized and those we hosted ourselves.

The beginning of the year was marked by community meetups. On March 6, we hosted the Sylius Polish Community Meetup in Warsaw (Sylius x Adyen x BitBag), featuring talks by Radosław Żurawski and Damian Murawski. Events in the capital always attract great interest, but this time we went one step further… across the ocean! 🌎

Together with the Sylius team, we organized the first-ever Sylius Meetup in the United States, which took place in New York City. It was not only a huge organizational challenge but also an incredible experience. The U.S. market is completely different, requiring a unique approach, so we opted for a workshop format led by Przemysław Ptasiński, an excellent developer and Sylius expert. The event gave us a wealth of insights and inspiration that we’ll definitely build on in future editions.

After our American adventure, we returned to Poland .In August, we hosted the Sylius Meetup in Opole, featuring a panel discussion titled “Sylius Live Update: Code, Sweat, and Pull Requests.”

Our guests shared the latest updates from the Sylius world, from core changes and behind-the-scenes stories to plans for the future. The event attracted many attendees, including plenty of new faces within the Sylius community.

In September, together with Sylius, Ergonode, and Tpay, we organized the very first B2B eCommerce Forum, an event aimed at connecting B2B businesses with service and technology providers supporting online sales. The B2B eCommerce Forum became a space for practical discussions and real-world industry challenges. Speakers included Radosław Żurawski, Mateusz Pękala, and our long-time client Albeco, who shared proven B2B solutions implemented in practice.

The second half of the year, of course, belonged to SyliusCon 2025, where we had the honor of being a Platinum Sponsor. This year’s edition took place once again in Lyon, gathering nearly 150 participants from all over the world developers, partners, and open-source enthusiasts.

The day before the conference, Gracjan hosted a full-day workshop focused on working with the Sylius framework. During the conference itself, he also delivered a talk titled “Can Swans Fly? Scaling Sylius in the Cloud,” where he addressed one of the key questions in eCommerce: how to prepare Sylius for real, high-traffic events such as game launches, when millions of users and thousands of orders hit the platform within just a few hours. He also explained what makes Sylius cloud-ready and capable of handling such heavy loads.

It once again confirmed how strong and dedicated the Sylius community truly is. 💙

Tpay Report

We also took part in the report “E-commerce B2B. Appetite for Growth”, prepared by Tpay, which explores how technology is becoming a key growth driver in the B2B sector.

Our CSO, Radosław Żurawski, shared his perspective on industry trends and the growing importance of customer experience in the purchasing process.

According to the report, 64% of companies plan to increase their B2B sales channel share, and 57% already use dedicated, custom-built platforms.
This aligns perfectly with BitBag’s direction for years, we’ve been creating flexible, modern Sylius-based solutions that support the digital transformation of B2B companies.

At the beginning of the year, together with the Sylius team, we hosted a webinar titled “Crucial Upgrade Insights from an Agency and Vendor Perspective.”

The goal was to clear up doubts and answer community and client questions following the release of Sylius 2.0.

During the session, Mikołaj Król and Gracjan Józefczyk addressed 17 of the most frequently asked questions, helping participants better understand the changes in the new version and the entire upgrade process.

This event became a valuable source of knowledge for anyone planning a Sylius 2.0 upgrade or simply looking to make the most of the platform’s new capabilities.

An Acquisition That Changes the European eCommerce Landscape

We’ve saved one of the most groundbreaking announcements for last, news that made waves at the end of 2025 and will undoubtedly shape the coming year.

Together with cyber_Folks and Sylius, we have acquired PrestaShop, opening a completely new chapter in BitBag’s history. 🤝

This is a massive step forward for us, not a change in direction, but a natural evolution.
PrestaShop and Sylius share a lot in common: an open-source philosophy, the same technological stack (PHP + Symfony), and strong positions in key European markets.

However, they differ in scale and target audience, and that’s exactly what makes them such a perfect match. PrestaShop extends our expertise in the SME segment, while Sylius remains a solid foundation for mid-market and enterprise projects.

For BitBag, this means:

Even stronger support for medium and enterprise merchants
Access to the unique know-how and solutions of the cyber_Folks ecosystem (including Shoper, Vercom, MailerLite, Apilo, SellRocket, and more)
