Completed Projects

This year, we proudly announced four major projects that we have been working on intensively recently. The publication of each new case study is a special moment for us – it not only sums up the effects of our work but also allows us to share the success stories we create with our clients. Each project is a separate story about challenges, innovative solutions, and the commitment of our team. Thanks to this, we can show how our actions translate into real benefits for the business.

Mytheresa

Mytheresa is one of the leading global luxury eCommerce platforms. It ships to over 130 countries and offers products from the collections of world fashion designers, including Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Gucci, and Prada. The company employs around 1,200 people in various locations.

  • Problem: The platform was outdated in terms of technology and caused limitations in the form of difficulties in its maintenance and development
  • Main Project Goal: Migration from the “legacy” solution based on Magento Enterprise to Sylius.
  • Result: Mytheresa received a more flexible platform that allows for many configurations, advanced targeting and has many built-in functionalities that facilitate the efficient management of the store. The company is generating regular growth and receiving many positive opinions about the new store.

The company has gained popularity and a loyal customer base throughout Europe, including England, Spain, France, Italy, and Austria. Foodspring is considered a leader in the healthy food market.

The project was carried out on an outsourcing basis.

We continue to support and develop all of the projects listed above to ensure they meet the company’s current business needs.

New Projects

In 2024, we continued working on projects we had started but also collaborated with new clients. Although the details are still a secret 🤫, we can reveal that we are currently working on projects for the web2print, catering, and industrial. These are diverse and demanding challenges that allow us to grow and create innovative solutions. Results soon!

Integrations and Plugins

This year, together with our partners, we created integrations that aim to streamline the processes taking place on the eCommerce platform. Both integrations are dedicated to Sylius, a project that we actively support as a leading business partner.

Sylius 2.0

The release of the stable version of Sylius 2.0 is an important event for the entire Sylius community. Work on 2.0 lasted 18 months. It was an intense time for the entire Sylius team and our two developers, Gracjan Józefczyk and Krzysztof Odważny, who actively participated in creating Sylius 2.0. More information about the new version and the checklist needed for the upgrade can be found in our blog. 👇🏻

Sylius <> Ergonode Connector

The reusable Sylius <> Ergonode Connector enables communication between Ergonode and the application (Sylius instance) at the appropriate URL, so that when Sylius modifies a resource in Ergonode, it receives a notification, resulting in corresponding changes to the Sylius resource. Modification is possible in areas such as product, category, attributes, and collections.

Recently, Ergonode has also been available in a Freemium version, which, combined with the open-source Sylius and available integration, lowers the entry threshold for companies that are unsure about the PIM solution in their company.

Key Benefits of Sylius <> Ergonode Connector

  •  Increased productivity
  • Streamlined workflows
  • Real-time data synchronization
  • Comprehensive multi-language support
  • Efficient category and attribute management

SyliusSuluPlugin

SyliusSuluPlugin is the work of our open-source team. It is an extension for Sylius, enabling integration with Sulu CMS. Why did we decide to do this integration?

Sylius and Sulu are a solid and powerful combination as they are open-source solutions based on the PHP Symfony framework. This makes it easier to integrate from the start, making the whole process more natural. PHP Symfony developers can work on both solutions, eliminating the need to hire additional programmers, which, in turn, helps reduce the cost and time required. By having access to the clean code of these solutions, developers can suit the eCommerce website to the exact needs of online businesses.

Open – source Team

Let’s stay with our BitBag open-source team for a moment. We specialize in creating and developing plugins dedicated to Sylius. We take care of their continuous development and compatibility with the latest versions of Sylius to ensure their maximum usability in eCommerce projects. Another important step is ahead of us – updating our plugins to version Sylius 2.0. We already have 35 extensions under our belt, which are extremely popular – they have been downloaded over 2 million times! 🚀

Our most frequently downloaded plugins:

  • SyliusCMSPlugin ~ 967k
  • SyliusWishlistPlugin ~ 509k
  • SyliusElasticsearchPlugin ~ 350k
  • SyliusShippingExportPlugin ~ 104k
  • Mollie Plugin ~100k

All plugins by BitBag can be found on GitHub >>

Conferences and Meetups

2024 was also fruitful regarding the number of conferences and meetups we participated in or organized. The largest were the two conferences that BitBag sponsored – PHPers Summit and SyliusCon

Traditionally, we organized two editions of the Sylius Polish Community Meetup in Warsaw and Opole, as well as two editions of the PHPers Bydgoszcz.

We participated in new conferences as exhibitors and speakers in Cross-border eCommerce, Fashion Business Congress, and the eCommerce B2B Conference.

Partnerships

This year, we became a Pimcor Silver Partner. 🤝 As a Silver Partner, we have gained access to additional resources that allow us to implement projects more effectively and support our client’s strategic business goals.

We continue to nurture and develop our existing partnerships.

As part of the partnership with Ergonode, in addition to joint sales activities, we:

As part of the partnership with Sylius, in addition to joint sales activities, we:

  • organized two editions of the Sylius Polish Community Meetup
  • jointly participated in the Fashion Business Congress and the eCommerce B2B Conference.
  • were a sponsor and exhibitor at SyliusCon

Marketing Activities

2024 was an intense year for us in terms of marketing activities. We introduced new ideas, while developing those proven from last year. One such initiative is content creation by our team. Why is it so important to us? We know that specialist knowledge and our know-how play a key role in building the image of professionals, attracting the attention of potential clients, strengthening trust and effective promotion. That is why we decided to engage our entire team in the content creation process – we have been successfully implementing this strategy for over 1.5 years.

A huge thank you to our team for their commitment and creativity! 💙

But that’s not all. This year, our sales and marketing team started working on a series of articles responding to the most common problems, challenges and objections that arise in conversations with clients – both current and potential. Thanks to this content, anyone struggling with similar difficulties can find answers and see how we approach solving such issues at BitBag.

New website… We are changing for you

In 2024, we launched an operation under the codename “New Website” 😎.

Our previous website began to limit us – it needed to be updated, and it was inflexible and hindered our development. It’s time for a change! After weeks of intensive content preparation, long days of design and countless hours of work by our marketing team, a new, modern website was created. It is user-friendly, full of fresh, useful information and perfectly tailored to our needs.

We still have a few more touches to refine every detail, but as they say – closer than further. Stay tuned! 😀

Awards

During this year’s SyliusCon in Lyon, a ceremonial award ceremony for Sylius partners took place, appreciating their contribution to the development of the platform. BitBag was distinguished in the “Top Implementation” category – the award was granted for the Mytheresa project.

BitBag Meetings

The annual company integration has already become an inseparable element of tradition at BitBag. Remote work undoubtedly has many advantages, but it also involves certain challenges – one of them is the lack of the possibility of face-to-face meetings. That is why these joint trips are an ideal opportunity to get to know each other better, talk about topics not only professional, and simply have a nice time. This year, as always, we enjoyed the beauty of nature, team games and lots of fun! 😊

But let the photos remain in our secret archives – we have an agreement with our BitBagers “What happens at the integration stays at the integration” 🤫

The End of Remote Work…?

At the beginning of this year, we opened the first official BitBag office in Opole! Our motto, “remote work always and forever,” remains relevant, but we needed a space that would serve us to organize business meetings, internal workshops, and sessions with clients. The office is also available to all our employees and is mainly used by the marketing and HR teams on a daily basis.

Summary of 2024

This was a year in which we implemented ambitious projects, introduced innovations, and celebrated subsequent milestones. Each of these moments reminded us that the key to success is people – our team, clients and partners who are building this story with us.

There were also challenges that forced us to reflect and look for new solutions. Thanks to them, we became stronger and even more determined to raise the bar even higher in 2025. We treat every experience from this year – both successes and minor stumbles – as an opportunity to learn and an inspiration for further development.

We are entering the new year with optimism and ambitious plans, ready to create more innovative solutions, implement groundbreaking projects, and change the future of eCommerce. We are convinced that the best is yet to come, and 2025 will bring more opportunities that we will be able to use together with you. 💙
